- Buy Seasonal Eat Seasonal
Ayurveda says eat as per season. God has blessed fruits & veggies for each season.
Seasonal crops are more in supply hence lot cheaper.
example:
Mangoes are summer fruits. Eat in summer and don't import from other countries in off-season
- Sharing is caring & smarter
- Buy in bulk with friends & share with each other
- a kitchen scale will help to manage the sharing better ;-)
- I got avocados of 10kgs for 10$ in season. ( It used to cost 2$ for just one fruit in non-season)
- Bake at home
- breads go stale in 2 days. To increase shelf-life they are added lot of preservatives.
- Bake at home & keep in freezer ( not fridge ) for more days
- add your choice of herbs/nuts/fruits to bread & make it tastier & healthier
- simple math - 1kg wheat flour - 2$ but 25kg bag is 24$
- all the other ingredients are lot cheaper & in size of 2-3 tea spoons
